The paradise of the believers

In The paradise of the believers Alberto García-Alix poses a question about the value of the word and the image. He does so through sixty-eight photographs – portraits, self-portraits, architecture and landscapes – and a text that prolongs the reflection on the life, experiences, fears and yearnings that the images contain.

Both word and image weave different narrative threads, composing a personal story, confronting absence and presence, reality and representation. The artist portrays and self-portrays. At the same time, he immerses himself, through an exercise of narrative appropriation, into the literary universe of Céline and Conrad.

The book includes the original audiovisual in DVD format.
