13 May García-Alix, speaker at OnPhoto Soria 2026
The OnPhoto Soria photography festival celebrates its tenth anniversary from May 13th to 17th at the Palacio de La Audiencia. Organized by the Mío Cid Photographic Association (AFOMIC), the festival features prominent photography professionals offering talks, workshops, and exhibitions.
Leonese photographer Alberto García-Alix will give a lecture on Friday, May 15th, at 7:15 p.m., entitled “Absence as a Stimulus.” This visual lecture will explore the theme of absence in his photographs, showcasing 68 images, most of which are previously unpublished. In addition to García-Alix, the festival features a dozen other speakers, including Pulitzer Prize winner Manu Brabo, photojournalist Sandra Balsells, and the MadaFaka collective, among others.
In its tenth edition, OnPhoto Soria celebrates the work done over the past decade to position Soria as a national leader in the visual arts and continues to promote local young talent through a free portfolio review at the School of Arts, free workshops, and other activities. More information on the full program can be found at OnPhoto Soria’s website.
