10 Mar García-Alix participates in the exhibition in tribute to the magazine Boronía
The exhibition Boronía Inaudita (1988–2014) revisits the history, legacy, and experience of the independent cultural magazine Boronía, edited and directed by Gabriel Núñez Hervás, with the design of Pablo Gallego. The magazine emerged in the late 1980s as an independent, non-periodical, and free publication, financed exclusively by advertising.
Boronía was characterized by bringing together authors with diverse themes and disciplines, as well as by the care and meticulousness applied to the final product, from its unique format—which had more the finish of a book or art catalog than a magazine—to the quality of the paper. Contributors to its pages included the painter Miquel Barceló, the singer Santiago Auserón, and the photographer Alberto García-Alix.
The exhibition, which runs from Thursday, March 12 to April 11 at La Inaudita (Córdoba), is the result of several months of research and the recovery of materials from the magazine’s archives. Alberto García-Alix has loaned the photograph “Tribute to Joseph Conrad” (1997) for the occasion; this image was one of the 34 different covers published for the magazine’s final issue in 2014.
