20 Oct Alberto García-Alix at IRUDIKA 2025
The international festival IRUKIKA 2025, a specialized event for the illustration sector, features photographer Alberto García-Alix for its ninth edition. The event, organized by the Professional Association of Illustrators of the Basque Country, will be held from October 23 to 25 at the Artium Museum in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Alberto García-Alix will screen his audiovisual work “From Where There Is No Return” at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, followed by a colloquium. The piece is a creation made for the homonymous exhibition held in 2008 at Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (MNCARS). During the forty-minute duration of the piece, García-Alix reflects, through his own voice and from a subjective present, on his past and on his photography. It is an “endless monologue” through which he brings the viewer closer to his most intimate and poetic side, a journey into memory between the present and the past of his work and, therefore, of his own biography.
As part of the festival program, the photographer will also present, along with artist and editor Frédérique Bangerter, the publications of the Cabeza de Chorlito publishing house, which they both founded. The presentation will take place on Friday, October 24th at 11:00 a.m.
More information about the program is available on the festival website: IRUDIKA.
