In 2003 Alberto García-Alix moved from Madrid to Paris. This collection of images—a catalog of the individual exhibit he did for the International Museum of Contemporary Art (MIAC) in Lanzarote in 2004—brings together the photographs he took during his first stay in the French capital.

This time García-Alix left behind the portrait to capture the day-to-day goings on of the streets of Paris, its places and inhabitants, projecting large doses of isolation and solitude that reflect his mood at that time.

Be my guest

The Labyrinth of a Lament

The labyrinth as physical, real space. Fragments under an unknown sky. Loneliness, landscape of my panic. The lament, unfathomable, dark. Pain. I looked into myself. A plea. I beg you. Be my guest.

Be my guest. You’re welcome. Cowardice is not learning and escaping, bound. Need. The regeneration or change, a birth. And walking blindly, while I believe, I think, irrefutable diet
