10 Dec Alberto García-Alix speaks in Logroño about the use of photographic archives
The fourth edition of the workshop “Research, Create, Publish: New Visions in Photographic Archives” will bring together professionals, artists, photographers, students, and all those interested in the preservation and enhancement of photographic archives in Logroño from December 13-14, 2025. Organized by La Casa de la Imagen in collaboration with Logroño City Council, the meeting focuses on strategies for accessing and revaluing photographic archives.
Alberto García-Alix, winner of the National Photography Prize, is one of the guest speakers at this fourth edition of the workshop, which also features Mónica Carabias (director of the National Photography Center), Manuel San Frutos (AI and archives expert), Eduardo Momeñe (photographer and professor), and Rocío Bueno (visual artist). They will share their experiences in the use of their photographic archives, including the creative application of historical photography.
According to the organizers, “the aim is to bring the archive closer to the public and make it appealing, thus multiplying its impact. Now more than ever, it is necessary to explore alternative avenues of dissemination that go beyond mere preservation to achieve universal reach, strengthening essential protection and research efforts.”
