Presentation of García-Alix at MAXXI Museum in Rome

The National Museum of 21st Century Arts (MAXXI) in Italy, in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute in Rome, invites the photographer Alberto García-Alix to present his audiovisual work, De donde no se vuelve, in the museum’s auditorium.

The MAXXI, established by the Italian Ministry of Culture, is Italy’s first national institution dedicated to contemporary creativity. It is conceived not only as an exhibition museum but also as a research center for innovation and experimentation in the arts.

De donde no se vuelve is an audiovisual creation by Alberto García-Alix, produced for the exhibition held in 2008 at the Reina Sofía National Art Centre in Madrid.

In this forty-minute piece, the artist reflects, through his own voice and from a subjective present, on his past and his photography.

The audiovisual presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26th, in the MAXXI auditorium. Admission is free, subject to capacity. Irene de Vico Fallani, Head of the MAXXI’s Orientation and Development Department, will introduce the presentation. Following the screening, García-Alix will engage in a dialogue with editor Carlos D’Ercole and answer questions from the audience.
